Leading Turkish identity specialist to partner with company streamlining ‘the one identity behind every business’.
London, UK and Istanbul, Turkey. November 14, 2019 – Well-established SSL provider, TurSign, and Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) innovator, RapidLEI, today announced a strategic partnership.
TurSign is the leading provider of cloud-based identity credentialing in Turkey, with 20+ years’ experience in ensuring online transactions remain secure.
RapidLEI is a GLEIF-accredited LEI issuer which specialises in the automation of the LEI lifecycle, making it much faster and easier than the otherwise-manual process. It also offers ‘multiyear’ LEIs, validating the identifier for up to 5 years – saving entities money and admin time and reducing the risk of expired records.
The new partnership will see TurSign extend their portfolio of digital trust solutions to include LEIs, meeting escalating demand for this G20-endorsed global identifier code. The international adoption of LEIs is rising, owing to regulations which now require LEIs for the completion of financial transactions with other entities. MiFID II, EMIR & MAR, for example, already require the use of LEIs.
Payments regulations are due to follow suit, with the SWIFT Payment Market Practice Group (PMPG) recently stating that “now is the appropriate time for the payment industry to begin its adoption of the LEI”. This is in large part due to ISO 20022 fast becoming the new global standard language for financial transactions, which provides “the right opportunity” for progressing to the mandated use of LEIs.
With LEIs quickly becoming mainstream, TurSign carefully selected RapidLEI to supply this aspect of their security portfolio. Kemal Cılız, Co-Founder & Chairman at TurSign, says “We are very excited to work with RapidLEI and bring their pioneering LEI technology to the Turkish market. Our customers need LEIs and when they need them, they need them fast. The multiyear option is also something we were keen to offer our customers, making RapidLEI the clear-cut choice of partner for us.”
Chris Hudson, Director of Channel Sales at RapidLEI, says “the need for LEIs is growing at an exponential rate, and RapidLEI is the fastest growing LEI issuer due to its pioneering automation technology and API-first, partner-first business model. TurSign will be a valuable partner for us, as their local expertise in Turkey will provide key support for our continued expansion into global markets.”
